Freedom from Demonic Bondage
Many Christians today have been deceived by the devil into thinking that he is no longer a viable adversary. This is simply not true or scriptural. Yes, Satan was defeated on the cross. It is also true that he does not have a legal right to interfere with the Christian. But then, when was the devil concerned about abiding with the law? A vivid analogy to this is the subject of slavery in the United States. In 1863 President Lincoln proclaimed slavery to be abolished and that the slaves were free citizens. This became the law of the land. It wasn't for another 100 years that people became fed up with this and demanded their lawful rights as citizens. They had to become aggressive about this to get what was rightfully theirs. We too, as citizens of Heaven and joint heirs with Jesus need to become aggressive and fight for what is rightfully ours. That is, freedom from demonic bondage, a victorious "Kingdom" walk with Jesus. There are many issues other than demonic bondage that fall under this. Breaking this bondage is a first but very important step on the road to victory.
Demonic bondage means that when an individual is possessed or oppressed by demons. Because of Satan's ability to deceive, this is a problem that is far more prevalent around the world than most people realize.
We all become victim of demonic influences to one degree or another so it is nothing to be ashamed or afraid of. The Bible is clear in the Book of Ephesians chapter 6 that we war against these spiritual forces, demons, and powers. It is important that we all gain understanding that the Christian is an overwhelming victor through Jesus. Before Jesus ascended said that all power in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. Since the Christian is in Him, a joint heir with Christ (Gal. 4:7), he too has all power and authority in heaven and earth at our disposal. We have authority over the devil and his demons. Period. It is Satan that deceives people into thinking he is in authority over us when in reality it is the other way around. If we as Christians will come to the realization of the truth in this matter, Satan cannot stand. He knows this so this is why he puts forth so much effort in his plan of deception.
The Bible makes it clear that there are demons, or evil spirits, in the world that interfere in people's lives (Ephesians 6:11-19). Evil forces, or powers, influence the minds of individuals, bring pride, hunger for money, sickness, undesirable behavior, inability to function normally, suicide and even to worship the devil and witchcraft. As a result of these forces, people can become a danger to themselves as well as others.
The Nature of Satan:
Satan is known in the Bible as a liar.
"You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44 NASB)
Jesus spoke of him in no uncertain terms and when we look at the beginning we can see what he said was true. From the very beginning he has been a liar and deceiver. His goal is to deceive mankind and cause them to be lost for eternity. To do this he must twist and turn the Word of God so it looks different and appealing. This is what he did to Eve in the Garden of Eden. God had given Adam and Eve a commandment that they could eat anything in the garden except the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God told them that the day they ate of it they would die. From the time he told them this till they met Satan all was well and Adam and his wife had a great relationship with God. All was beautiful in paradise until…Enter the serpent (Satan). The words dripped from his reptilian lips like butter and honey but in realty were designed to destroy.
The serpent said to the woman, "You surely will not die! "For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3:4-5 NASB)
It was all a lie. Nothing could have been farther from the truth but because of the great temptation and lust of Eve, she ate of the fruit and gave to her husband and he ate. When this happened mankind fell from the sweet relationship with God and went headlong into sin and yes even into witchcraft or worship of Satan. They were thrown out of the garden and lived their lives outside of Gods’ blessings. Something else happened when they gave themselves over to the Devil.
Satan was a Murderer from the Beginning.
“…He was a murderer from the beginning…(John 8:44 NASB)
This is always the result of witchcraft and Demon worship. When you put your life into the hands of a liar and murderer you cannot expect good results to take place. This is true for an individual, family or nation. Many nations are filled with the practice of Demon worship. Untold homes and lives have been destroyed by this diabolic deceiver. If you are familiar with the practice of witchcraft or Demon worship can you think of anything good that comes from it other than the gratification of fleshly desires?
The lure of Witchcraft and Demon Worship:
We must first look at the root of witchcraft in order to understand the powerful lure that it has upon so many people. The Bible tells us that it comes from a desire for our flesh to be satisfied. Witchcraft and Demon worship appeals to immoral lusts and passions. Things that are common in witchcraft circles are sexual promiscuity, drug use, criminal activity, and murder. Witchcraft is not limited to these alone. A great host of ways that have been proven to destroy lives are associated with this deviant spiritual activity. Question: Why does Satan have to lie in order to get people to follow him?
Deliverance from the power of Satan:
Satan is no match for the power of Gods’ Spirit. He must obey the word of God for it has authority over him. If you have been or are presently involved in witchcraft there is a way out. It doesn’t matter how far along you are; deliverance is not far away. It won’t come through counseling or medication it can only come through the delivering power of God. This is brought out in the demon possessed man who lived in the country of the Gadarenes. The Bible records that he was possessed with a legion of demons (2000). He was at the extreme end of demon possession, ran naked in the tombs and could be tamed by no man. All it took was a word from the master, Jesus Christ and he was delivered!
There is a better way. Witchcraft may seem innocent at first as many have testified, but as it progresses it begins to take hold and will not let go. Many are afflicted today by demon spirits and feel no way out. Many countries are filled predominantly with witchcraft and have no way to get out. The good news is there is freedom from demon possession and oppression. Jesus said that his followers would be able to cast out devils.
"These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; (Mark 16:17 NASB)

This is what Scripture says:
"There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD; and because of these detestable things the LORD your God will drive them out before you. You shall be blameless before the LORD your God." (Deuteronomy 18:10-13 NASB)
"There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee" Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God." (Deuteronomy 18:10-13 KJV)
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12 KJV).
"... there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.... And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters" (Matthew 8:28b, 32 KJV).
"There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them with which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one" (Acts 5:16 KJV).
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (Galatians 5:19-21 KJV).
Indications of Demon activity:
The following are a few issues that may indicate demonic oppression, possession or bondage's of the flesh (sin):
- Compulsion to abuse animals or people;
- Compulsion to commit acts that are clearly sinful,
- Sexual perversion and immorality (homosexuality, molestation, etc.);
- A compulsion to abuse your body (drugs, alcohol, gluttony, abuse or misuse of other substances, etc.);
- Seeking spiritual knowledge through Eastern religions and other counterfeit religious groups (TM, Yoga, humanism, etc.);
- Involvement in occult practices (fortune-telling, Satanism, Witchcraft, etc.);
- Mental distress or oppression (anxiety, fear, anger, disorientation, etc.);
- Continual dwelling on evil thoughts (perversion, violence, etc.),
- Psychological disorders (split and multiple personalities, paranoia, etc.);
- Physical disorders may be demon caused (Matthew 9:32, 33);
- Lack of freedom or joy in the Lord (spiritual bondage);
- Inability or constant refusal to repent of sin, though you know you are sinning (rebellion).

This is God's answer?
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord" (Luke 4:18, 19 KJV).
This prophecy concerning the Messiah was fulfilled in Christ, and the authority noted herein has been passed on to Christians (Mark 16:17).
Jesus came to free those under demon bondage. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13 KJV). The term "saved" or "salvation" includes your spiritual, physical and mental health.
You need to pray sincerely to the Lord that He will forgive your sin, cleanse you, be your Saviour and Lord and baptize (fill) you with the Holy Spirit (I John 1:8, 9; John 1:12; Luke 11:13; Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit will give you the power to overcome demon bondage, activity and influence. You will be free. You can experience an abundant, full, meaningful life with the joy and purpose God desires for you (John 10:10).
Take a bold, fearless inventory of yourself. You must choose whom you will serve; self and fleshly desire, Satan or God? Repent of all sinful desires. Renounce sin and sinfulness and its ingrained habits. Commit yourself to Christ with determination and resolve. After you have repented and asked for forgiveness, accept God's assurance that you are a child of God and have been forgiven. Now you can stay free.
You cannot reckon an evil spirit dead nor crucify an evil spirit. Neither can you cast out the flesh. You must crucify the flesh (Galatians 2:20) and its desires and cast out evil spirits (James 4:7). When demons or evil spirits are cast out, you need something to replace them, lest they return (Matthew 12:43-48).
Pray this out loud:
In the name of Jesus, I crucify my flesh and all the desires of my flesh.
Any demon spirit that is inside me, I bind you and coast you out of my body! In the name of Jesus.
In Jesus name, Power of the Blood of Jesus, enter in to me, and fill my entire body.
In Jesus name, blood of Jesus, cover me from the top my head to the bottom of the soul of my feet. Amen.
These prayers should be repeated as often as necessary. They should be prayed aggressively and with authority. You can be assured of victory over demons if you have received Jesus as Savior and Lord (John 1:12), and have received the baptism with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit guides you into truth, empowers you, and intercedes for you. He also gives you spiritual gifts, such as discerning of spirits, for your welfare and that of others I Corinthians 12; Mark 16:9-20).
As you receive God's nature, the traits of your fleshly nature (such as irresponsible behavior, evil thoughts, pride, and lack of love) will be replaced by the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22, 23).
Your greatest need is to continually study God's Word. Meditate upon the Bible day and night (Joshua 1:8) to put on the whole armor of God (means to understand and trust the word of GOD – The Bible) that you might be able to effectively overcome the forces of evil (Ephesians 6:10-18). Jesus answered Satan with the Word of God (Luke 4:1-13).You can do the same. Pray without ceasing (I Thessalonians 5:17) and get into a local church fellowship for further ministry (Hebrews 10:25).
As You Pray:
Consistently honor God with thanksgiving and praise. As you give Him first place in your thoughts and actions, Satan and his demons will not be able to find a place in your life.

In Joshua 3:13–17,
the priests, as commanded by God, stepped into the Jordan, the river
stopped flowing, and Israel crossed the Jordan. How many of us today are
standing on the bank of the Jordan afraid or unwilling to get our feet
wet? And what does the analogy of “getting our feet wet” mean?
To get one’s feet wet means to step out in faith. It is an act of faith and an act of surrender.
Are
you going to just stand on the bank of the Jordan waiting for something

Anyone
who wishes to live a victorious life in Jesus Christ should release
that we all are dealing with a myriad of attacks from the devil.
Many
of you are under attack without even realizing it, or you know that you
are under attack but don't know how to deal with it. The subject is a necessary teaching that has unfortunately fallen
by the wayside in most churches today.
There
are numerous passages in the Bible that address this issue. Perhaps the
most important is that we are overwhelming victors through Jesus
Christ. Jesus made it clear that we have authority over these things and
we are not to be in fear.
A
